CYELL plants trees

The Internet is an incredible medium, it offers its users a world of opportunities. It, unfortunately, has its downside, too. The majority of users never see how the Internet uses huge amounts of grey energy, and therefore emits CO2. This makes the Internet as it is today, unsustainable. And this is while the additional charges to run entirely on green energy are low and affordable.

These days we can take advantage of what is called 'green hosting'. This means that the webhoster runs their equipment on green energy. Is it too much of a bother to make the change to a green host? No problem, you can compensate your website's CO2 output by purchasing Cleanbits wind energy or by planting a tree. Cyell believes this is a fantastic initiative, which is why Cyell has planted two trees to compensate it's website's CO2 emissions! In total, we are compensating for 212 kilograms of CO2 or 1,250 kilometres in an average car with a petrol engine. Cyell is now allowed to display the Cleanbits logo on its website. In so doing, we can prove our website occupies a CO2-neutral place on the Internet and that we are striving to support a sustainable worldwide web.
